Walden Greg Walden

I watched the Sunday morning political shows today and while the same tired arguments made the rounds I was struck by George Will saying that the left said they were not against the war in Afganistan during the Bush administration,  But now they were as Obama escalates the war there.  It seems to me that the left in this case is correct.   Not about the war necessarily but about the fact that even when your people are in power you need to make sure they are doing the right thing for the nation .  Something the conservatives forgot to do, which is exactly why Afganistan is a problem now.

Well the title of this piece is Walden Greg Walden.  My congressional representative.  A letter to the editor spoke of Walden as looking out for rural interests. Ha!

Walden is not overly corrupted by 10 years in congress, but he is absolutely corrupted by partisan politics. I always wonder what has Greg Walden done for his conservative district in Oregon.  Not much.  Oh he gives us the usual pork to keep us happy.  But when you look closely on how he votes, he votes with the party instead of for the real interests of his constituents.  99% of the money Walden attracts for re-election comes from outside his district.  He accumulates over 1 million for his war chest every two years to have a job that pays $350,000 per term.  Odd you would spend so much to have a job that pays a 1/3rd of that.

For those in politics "It is more important to be a representative than it is to represent".  Politics is really a rotten profession/career.  Our own Greg Walden has earned well over 1 million dollars during his tenure.  I would like to make $175,000 a year and per diem,  would'nt you?
